An art-history game
A timeline of 23 art styles, from medieval stained glass to pixel art. For each style, read a short lesson while a new scene is painted for you in that style — then find what changed. Three games open the next style.
Click a difference in either picture.
How Diffle works
Every style sits on one path, in the order art history made them, in six chapters. A style opens when you finish the one before it — like a course, not a catalogue.
A new scene takes two to four minutes to paint. In that time you read a three-minute lesson from Wikipedia, with pictures of real works. The whole article is one tap away whenever you want more.
Two copies of your scene, a handful of quiet edits. Tap what changed in either picture. A tip tells you what makes the style special, so you look at it the way an artist would.
Each chapter ends with a mystery scene in one of its styles. Play it, then say which style it is. That is how you know the styles stayed with you.
Play your scenes again, read about their style again, or share a scene for others to play and earn 5 credits. Your progress is saved to your account, so it follows you to every device.
Credits pay for painting new scenes. Reading, and playing your games again, is free.
Chapter 1 opens with stained glass, around 1150. The timeline is free to look at.
